Hi! I’m Miguel and I’ve been teaching Spanish online for years. I know the basic things you need to succeed in your mission to become fluent in Spanish:
  • Focus on the most common words and expressions.
  • Focus on conversational Spanish at first.
  • Get lots of input.
If you’re interested in advanced language learning techniques, I can help you too: I’ve used apps, SRS, Pimsleur, books, online lessons, Language Learning with Netflix, and more! I’m fluent in English, and I’m currently learning both Mandarin Chinese and Latin. Of all the methods I have used, the two that have helped me the most have been extensive reading and online lessons. Both give you the input you need to acquire the language, and input is the most important thing you need. Of these two, online lessons are the best way to quickly boost your oral fluency, while extensive reading is a good long-term strategy for vocabulary acquisition.

If you enjoy talking about science, music, history, technology, I’m your man! I love reading about language acquisition, learned the piano for a time, and spend too much time reading about technology and history, especially the history of languages.

I’m also technically minded. I use both Windows and macOS everyday and I have developed a free keyboard layout for language learners that covers Spanish, French, German and other popular Latin-based languages, for both Windows and macOS.

On my YouTube channel, Spanish Input, I publish short stories in simple Spanish, an input-based course for absolute beginners in Spanish, and also technical videos about using Zoom, language learning software, and the like.
